 MicroEnterprise Zones

  • A microenterprise is a business with fewer than five employees and is small enough to require initial capital of $35,000 or less.
  • Most microenterprises create employment for the owner and often other family members, while others grow into larger businesses that employ members of the community.
  • Common microenterprises include repair services, cleaning services, specialty foods, jewelry, arts and crafts, gifts, clothing and textiles, computer technology, childcare and environmental products and services.
  • There are an estimated two million microentrepreneurs in America today.
  • Special funding and resources are available for targeted MicroEnterprise zones.

Through consultants affiliated with the Central California Small Business Development Center (CCSBDC), participants receive individual consulting and technical assistance to help start and run their business successfully. The cost of the consulting is paid for by the CCSBDC financial partners and is made available to Microenterprise clients at no charge.

To pre-register or for more information please contact the CCSBDC at (559) 625-3051, ext. 10
